All Refrigerators & Freezers Error Codes

SamsungMaintenance
1E

Freezer Defrost Sensor Error

Applies to: Samsung French Door / Side-by-Side Refrigerator

The freezer defrost temperature sensor (thermistor) circuit is open, shorted, or reading outside the permissible ohmic temperature curve.

SamsungMaintenance
2E

Fridge Room Temperature Sensor Error

Applies to: Samsung Twin Cooling French Door Refrigerator

The fresh food (refrigerator room) temperature sensor circuit is reading open circuit (infinite resistance) or short circuit (zero ohms).

SamsungCritical
84E

Inverter Compressor Locked Rotor

Applies to: Samsung Digital Inverter Refrigerator

The inverter board detects excessive current or zero rotor RPM feedback, tripping overcurrent protection due to a seized compressor or inverter IPM failure.

LGCritical
Er IF

Ice Maker Evaporator Fan Motor Jammed

Applies to: LG French Door / Door-in-Door Smart Refrigerator

Ice fan motor error (Er IF or 1F). The main control PCB sends power to the ice room cooling fan but does not receive tachometer rotation feedback for over 115 seconds.

WhirlpoolVerification
PO

Power Outage Warning / Temperature Rise

Applies to: Whirlpool Side-by-Side & French Door Refrigerator

Power Outage indicator. The control board was de-energized during an electrical blackout, and internal temperatures rose above 45°F (7°C) in the fresh food section.

GECritical
FF

Freezer Evaporator Fan Motor Stalled

Applies to: GE Profile / Café French Door Refrigerator

Freezer fan fault (FF). The main control board senses that the freezer evaporator fan motor has failed to spin at target RPM for more than 2 consecutive hours.

Field Service Recommendations for Refrigerators & Freezers

Prior to performing any diagnostic testing or taking electrical measurements on residential or commercial equipment, always lock out / tag out (LOTO) power sources and shut off fuel or water supplies. Wear rated personal protective equipment (insulated gloves, eye protection) and use a calibrated CAT III/CAT IV digital multimeter.

If fault symptoms persist after executing our pinout checks and component resistance tests, consult a factory-certified technician or licensed HVAC/appliance specialist.
